Although I couldn't do much because of an issue with my hearing aids (long story short, they got wet, got them fixed but not in time for FC) I couldn't be a full FLARE worker. I don't want to do the "Laughing Man" bit, even by accident.

I still did the best I could. I mostly did sign-pulling. I pulled down signs of events that have already completed, such as the night before's room parties, dances, and acts. I didn't just rip down the signs, I carefully removed the tape, and set posters aside, saving at least two of each (one for archives, one for assembling a "con-book" of events and acts not published in the official conbook.) I usually did most of it after midnight, except for the dance card posters. I took those down early next morning.

There should be a safe place to put all these past events - not in the trash until the very last half hour of the con. That way, others can pick up a souvenir of such a gloriously fun event. Be good to pick up a lightweight collapsing wire bread or rack for this - if there's a store closing in your area, ask them for a rack! I know, I did TWO grocery store closings in 2007, really bad on my nerves, that. But, as a result, I have a few racks and merchandisers, and will bring them to Califur. Identify who you are, and I'll give one or two to you.

Just letting you know, you can have someone doing this at other events. This one requires patience an discretion. Patience is needed when you're pulling off tape from the posters and replacing it it on the wall or easel - others might want to use it to put up the next day's events. Discretion is needed, too. They have to be able to see if there's an expiration date (like a date or a day written on it) and leave it there if it doesn't have one like "Special comic book lounge all day till late - at this room" or it has a repeat date. Website ads should be left alone. If there is a line saying "Leave this up until the end of the con," then it's easy to follow the instructions. Notices and contact scribbles should also be left alone, too.

I also helped out in the Fursuit Lounce, cleaned up cups and towels, as well as kept the Fursuit repair table tidy.

Well, there's nothing else to say - see you guys at Califur!
